Buena DECA Recognized for Outstanding School-Based Enterprise (SBE)
Sierra Vista, AZ – Colts Corner, the school-based enterprise at Buena High School, was among 728 school-based enterprises achieving Gold for the 2023-2024 school year and will be recognized during DECA’s International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California. Four students from Buena DECA will now compete in Anaheim for the Buena SBE project.
A school-based enterprise (SBE) is an entrepreneurial operation in a school setting that provides goods and services to meet the needs of the market. SBEs are managed and operated by students as hands-on learning laboratories that integrate National Curriculum Standards in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. DECA advisors have utilized this effective educational tool for over four decades to provide their students with realistic and practical learning experiences that reinforce classroom instruction, enhance 21st century skill development, and prepare students for college and careers.
Buena High School DECA Triumphs in Round 1 of National Virtual Business Competition
Sierra Vista, AZ – Buena High School’s DECA chapter has demonstrated excellence once again, achieving outstanding results in the 2024 National DECA Virtual Business Challenge (Round 1). Competing against thousands of students nationwide, Buena DECA secured top placements in six of the eight categories, showcasing their commitment to business education and leadership.
